Councilmember Gray BiographyBen Gray is a first-time elected councilmember for District two, beginning his term on June 8, 2009. Councilmember Gray voice and face are familiar in the community as you can see him in the classroom, on television, on the stage in local theatre productions and many community meetings. Councilmember Gray's has been in the most powerful medium of communication for over 30 years as Executive Producer of “Kaleidoscope” on ABC’s affiliate station KETV. He has won multiple local, regional and national awards as a reporter, photojournalist and host of a TV show. Of particular note, Ben Gray has served as Project Manager and Co-Producer of the instructional video “Project Impact” that depicts the lives of five African Americans who made significant contributions to the United States. This production is a teaching tool for many school districts across the nation and says Ben, “We can choose to live together as brothers and sisters, or perish together as fools.” A little unknown fact you may not know about Ben is that he frequently uses his talents and medium to regularly give motivational speeches to Omaha’s youth. Motto: Practicing social and community responsibility, promoting equal rights and representation of minorities and advocating for all citizens of Omaha.
