Bob has been the City of Omaha’s Public Works Director since October 2005.
The major functions of the Public Works Department include:
- Operate and maintain the network of City streets
- Design and construction management services
- Operate and maintain the wastewater treatment and collection system
- Maintain City fleet of vehicles and equipment
- Facility maintenance and construction management services
- Manage the collection of solid waste and recycling and the processing of yard waste into Oma-gro
- Operate and maintain the levee and flood control systems
- Environmental services, i.e. household hazardous waste, air quality, erosion control
Bob’s goal for the Public Works Department is to provide dependable, safe and efficient transportation and environmental services to the citizens.
