Dana started with the City on March 1, 2004 and was appointed Executive Director by former Mayor Mike Fahey on December 15, 2004.
The major functions of the Omaha Convention and Visitors Bureau include:
- Serve as Omaha’s official tourism destination management and marketing department.
- Drive new revenue into the economy through destination marketing, meeting and convention sales and group tour sales.
- Provide a hospitable service to convention delegates and leisure travelers with an experience that will encourage them to return.
Dana’s goals for the OCVB include:
- Prospect for new convention business and develop business relationships with national meeting planners.
- Provide community information to visitors informing them of the happenings during their visit.
- Provide convention services such as, welcome desks, registration, transportation assistance and off convention center premise event organizing.
- Advertise the many attractions and activities of Omaha to a regional and national audience.
- Brand the city name through official Omaha merchandise.
- Monitor and administer all Omaha destination technology communication through VisitOmaha.com
