Glenn Cunningham Lake
Cunningham Campground is located at 8305 Rainwood Road. All spaces are available on a first come basis. Fees will be paid in advance at the campground kiosk, only cash payments are accepted. The Campground will open for the season on April 14th, 2012.
The 390 acre lake is surrounded by more than 1,050 acres of park land in north central Omaha. The lake project opened to the public in 1977. Visitors enjoy picnicking, no-wake boating, hiking and bicycling on asphalt trails, nature study opportunities and fishing. Horseback riding is permitted on designated trails. The lake is a popular spot for windsurfing. There is a 7 day total limit in a 30 day period. This limit applies to Cunningham and N.P. Dodge as one park. N.P. Dodge Park
NP Dodge Campgrounds are closed until further notice, due to flood damage.
N.P. Dodge Park is located at 11005 JJ Pershing Dr, this is a 445 acre park that offers a wide variety of recreational activities. There are two "double-wide" park boat ramps located next to the Crow's Nest on the Missouri River. The Crow's Nest offers gas, ice and soft drinks.
All camping spaces are available on a first come basis. Fees will be paid in advance at the campground kiosk, only cash payments are accepted. The campgrounds are closed for the 2012 season. There is a seven day limit total in a 30 day period. This limit applies to Cuningham and N.P. Dodge as one park. For questions please call the Park Caretaker at 402-444-4673.
There is a nice natural area around the inlet north of the marina for river fishing. A fishing permit is needed from the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission - not available on site. A large pavilion and many picnic shelters are available in the park. To reserve call 402-444-5920.
Much of the park remains a natural, open area. A horse trail is available at the north edge of the park. Bike paths and walking trails are around the south edge of the park.
