Pools and Aquatic Programs

Omaha boasts one of the nation's best aquatic programs. In 2008, Parks & Recreation received the National Excellence in Aquatics Award. This award honors an agency who demonstrates excellence in the management and development of public swimming pools and other aquatic facilities. Omaha's accomplishments highlight both the massive physical improvements accomplished at several pools and the quality of aquatic staff currently managing the City's Facilities. With leisure pools, traditional pools and spray grounds, Omaha residents have many options to choose from for their aquatic experience. To further enhance recreational swimming, the City offers "Learn to Swim" classes and water aerobics year round.
