Pool Rules
- Talking to or distracting the lifeguards who are on duty is not allowed
- During rest breaks, persons under the age of 18 are to stay a minimum of 4 feet away from the sides of the pool
- Smoking, drugs, alcohol, weapons, glass or food is prohibited in pool areas. See the pool manager for the location of the designated concession area
- Only Coast Guard Approved flotation devices are allowed
- Dunking is prohibited
- Back dives or flips from the pool deck are prohibited. Front dives are permitted in areas 5 feet or deeper
- Profanity or abusive language is prohibited
- The City of Omaha is not responsible for loss or theft of personal belongings
- Telephone and office areas are for business only. Do not congregate in these areas
- Children five and under must be accompanied by a paid adult at all times. Children are to be kept within arms reach at all times. If the child is in the water, the adult must also be in the water.
- Individuals with a disability requiring an accommodation to safely and enjoyably participate in any of our programs should see the pool manager.
Swim Attire
- Swim suits must be worn and visible in the pool area -- cutoffs, gym shorts, workout shorts, athletic shorts, sports bras, street clothes, etc. are prohibited. Individuals wishing to request a variance from this policy due to religious or medical reasons must see the pool manager to assist in completing variance request
- Thong bathing suits are prohibited
- T-shirts are not to be worn in the water unless authorized by a pool manager. If approved, they are to be light colored, gray or white
- Children with diapers are required to wear plastic pants over the diaper. These pants must have elastic around the waist and legs. Swim diapers are also acceptable
Diving Boards
- Only one person is allowed on the ladder or board at a time. Swimmers may not wait on the ladder
- Before leaving the board, make sure the diving area is clear of all swimmers
- All dives and jumps are to be made from the end of the board. No jumps or dives are allowed of the side of the board
- Running starts for jumps and dives are not permitted
- Only one bounce off the board is allowed
- After entry into the water, the swimmer must vacate the diving area as soon as possible. The swimmer must swim toward the safety rope to either side of the diving area or to the nearest ladder
- Swimming under the board or toward the back wall s not allowed
- Goggles are prohibited when using the diving board
- Swinging on the diving board rails is prohibited
Baby Pool & Main Pool for children 5 and under
- All children must be accompanied by a paid adult, 18 years of age or older
- Children must not be left unattended by the adult, they must be within arms reach. If the child is in the water, the adult must also be in the water
- Diaper-aged children are required to wear plastic pants over the diaper. These pants must have elastic around the waist and legs. Swim diapers are also acceptable
Slide Rules
Large Slides at Deer Ridge, Elmwood, Miller Water Park, Martin Luther King, Oak Heights & Karen
- Riders must be 48 inches tall to ride the slide
- Slides must be ridden feet first, lying on your back or in a sitting position
- Chains are not permitted
- Riders must wait for the attendant's signal before starting the ride
- Do not run, dive, stand, kneel, rotate or stop in the slide
- At the end of the slide, obey all instructions by the attendant and exit quickly
- Glasses must be securely affixed to riders with head straps
- Swim wear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets, metal ornamentation or other personal items that may cause injury to the rider or damage to the slide are not permitted
- Riders are not permitted to be caught at the bottom of the slide
- Riders must be able to exit the splash pool independently (at Miller,with the assistance of a companion or by using the lift provided)
- One rider at a time on the Flume Slide
River Slide at Miller Water Park. An ADA Accessible Slide
- Up to 4 riders at a time are permitted on the River Slide
- Riders needing assistance may ride the River Slide with a companion. If a companion is required, it is your responsibility to provide one
- Riders must be able to mount the River Slide with the assistance of a companion or independently by using the tier steps provided
- A water wheel chair and life jacket are available if needed
Small Kiddy Slides at Gallagher, Hanscom, Miller Water Park & Oak Heights
- Slides must be ridden feet first, lying on your back or in a sitting position
- Never form chains
- Do not run, dive , stand, kneel, rotate or stop in the slide
- At the end of the slide, obey all instructions by the attendant and exit quickly
- Glasses must be securely affixed to the rider with head straps
- Swim wear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets, metal ornamentation or other personal items that may cause injury the the rider or damage to the slide are not permitted
- Riders are not permitted to be caught at the bottom of the slide
- One rider at a time
Floatables
- Standing on the floatable is not permitted
- Pushing others off the floatable is not permitted
- Remain clear of the anchor chains at all times
- Swimming under the floatable is not permitted
- Hanging on the head of the snake is not permitted (at Mockingbird Hills)
