Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control Program |
Purpose: To protect children from lead poisoning; to promote awareness of the dangers of lead-based paint; to promote lead-safe work practices in private market renovation and remodeling.
Lead poisoning, whether caused by lead-based paint or other sources of lead, have a profound negative effect on the human body, and children under the age of six are especially vulnerable. The Cost of Lead Poisoning: Omaha, NE provides a brief synopsis of the cost of lead poisoning.
The Lead Paint Hazard Control Program eliminates lead-based paint hazards and other lead-related hazards from single-family and multi-family residences. This includes remediation of both exterior and interior lead-paint hazards.
