Rental Rehabilitation Program (RRP) Print

Purpose: To encourage the rehabilitation of rental units that are affordable to low-income and moderate-income residents of the City’s older neighborhoods.

RRP provides funding for rental property rehabilitation.  Rehabilitation activities eligible for this program is limited to the correction of substandard conditions, essential improvements to the property, and the repair of major systems (for example; roofs, foundation, heating and air conditioning) in danger of failure.  The HOME Rental Limits are available for review.  Rental Rehabilitation Program (RRP) information sheet.

General requirements for applicants include the following:

  • Must own the rental property
  • Property must have one or more substandard conditions/code violations
  • Units must have at least two bedrooms
  • Must match funds on a one-to-one basis
  • Maintain property standards throughout the Affordability Period (5 to 15 years)
  • Maintain records and make annual reports to the City during the Affordability Period.
  • Rent to low-income and moderate-income families
  • Affirmatively market property in accordance with the City of Omaha Affirmative Action Marketing Policy (AAMP).
