The Breckenridge-Gordon House is significant as a fine example of the Georgian revival style of architecture, a disciplined style popular between 1880 and 1920 that used examples from America’s early colonial history as models.

The original owner of the house, Ralph W. Breckenridge, was president of the Nebraska State Bar association in 1905. A. W. Gordon, a successful Omaha businessman, was also known for his work as one of the founders of Children’s Hospital.
