Mason Terrace and Van Closter Residence
1001 Park Avenue, 2911-21 Mason Street
1889, 1890
Architect: Findley & Shields
Queen Anne Style
Designated Omaha Landmark: March 17, 1981
This unique property is actually a single family house and five attached row house apartments.
Built by Herbert Van Closter, the structures are representative of the type of commercial residential architecture constructed in Omaha in the late 1880's when elaborate trolley networks opened many new areas to development and structures were quickly erected by real estate investors along major routes.
This group of buildings is in the heart of the Park Avenue neighborhood along the streetcar route to Hanscom Park. |
