Dr. Elmer R. Porter House
3426 Lincoln Boulevard
1902
Architect: Frederick A. Henninger
Neo-Classical Revival Style
Designated Omaha Landmark: March 17, 1981

Overlooking Bemis Park, the Porter House exhibits details from several architectural styles. While the main house is basically Neo-Classical revival, the large, wraparound porch is a Victorian carry over. Craftsman and Prairie elements are also evident. The interior of the house contains murals by German-born artist Gustaf Fuchs.

The house was built for Dr. Elmer Porter, a prominent Omaha physician who reportedly had the largest medical practice in the city in the early 1900’s. Later the house was owned by Arthur C. Thomsen, a district court judge.

(This building is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places.)
