Gurdon Wattles House
320 South 37th Street
1895
Architect: Thomas Kimball
Chateauesque Style
Designated Omaha Landmark: April 11, 1995

This house was built in 1895 for Gurdon Wattles, a noted Omaha business leader and president and organizer of the 1898 Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition. The Wattles house was designed by the prominent Omaha architect Thomas Kimball, who along with partner C. Howard Walker, was architect -in-chief for the Trans-Mississippi Exposition.

Located in the Gold Coast area, the Wattles house is one of the few and possibly the finest example of the Chateauesque style in the city. The house now contains several apartments and its outlying carriage house has been made into two apartments.

(This building is also located in a district listed in the National Register of Historic Places.)
