Long Range Planning

The Long Range Planning section develops and maintains the city’s Master Plan, while coordinating the continued implementation of the initiatives and policies contained in the Plan’s Elements.

This includes the preparation of:

• area and neighborhood plans
• transportation planning
• land use planning
• environmental planning
• other special projects that reflect the community’s values

In addition to the Master Plan, other areas of responsibility include:

• the annual administration of the annexation and capital improvement processes
• developing the building indicators report
• both the creation and oversight of various special overlay districts
