Notice Inviting Bids List
Sealed bids are invited and will be received by the City of Omaha on the projects listed below.
Plans and specifications are available in the Public Works Department, 1819 Farnam Street, Suite 600, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, and may be obtained for the purposes of bidding upon payment of the indicated deposit. Questions regarding this project shall be directed to the Project Engineer. Bidders are specifically requested not to contact anyone other than the Project Engineer.
Effective January 2, 2009, the following policy concerning the cost of plans and specifications will take effect:
- There will be no charge for small plan sets bid through the Public Works Department.
- Medium size plan sets, with a deposit of $50.00 or less, are non-refundable.
- For large plan sets, the estimated cost to print them will be charged. One-half the amount of the cost will be returned to each contractor returning the plans and/or specifications in good condition within five (5) working days of the bid opening.
All bidders are required to comply with the Omaha Contract Compliance Program. Details of this program are incorporated in the bid documents.
Effective May 22, 2003, all bidders are required to comply with the regulations set forth in the City of Omaha Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction; 2003; Third Edition. The Second Edition may be viewed or downloaded. The First Addendum, dated May 9, 2003, is also available for those persons who have a copy of the First Edition of the 2003 Spec and wish to update it. Copies of the latest Edition are available at the Public Works Reception Desk, 1819 Farnam Street, Sixth Floor at a cost of $30.00 for the hard copy and $3.00 for the CD-ROM. Sealed bids are to be addressed to Buster Brown, City Clerk, and must be on file in his office, Omaha-Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, Room LC-1, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, on, or before, the opening in public in Room LC-4, Omaha-Douglas Civic Center, at 11:00 a.m. on the Bid Opening Date.
As evidence of good faith and guarantee that contract will be entered into should award be made thereon, a bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid must accompany bid. City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in whole in in part, and the bidders shall have the right to appeal any decision to the City Council.

Consideration of Proposals
After reading, the Engineer shall compare proposals based on the corrected total bid amounts. Comparison results consisting of the corrected total bid amounts will become public one (1) working day after the bid date except when all proposals exceed the Engineer's estimate. Detailed results consisting of the unit price bid tab will become public one (1) working day after the contract for the low bidder has been accepted and the recommendation for award has been received by the City Clerk. This City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informalities, irregularities, minor defects or technical errors as may be deemed best for the interests of the City.
