Standard Specifications

The City of Omaha requires that all work on public streets, sewers and drainage ways, within Omaha’s jurisdictional boundary, meet the requirements of the City’s Standard Specification for Public Works Construction.  The Standard Specification was revised in 2003, the latest version is the Third Edition dated August, 2003.  Individual addenda to the Standard Specification are available for reference.  They have been formatted to allow holders of earlier editions of the Standard Specification to cut and paste the changes into their manuals.

The documents available from this site may be downloaded and used without restriction.  The specification is also available from the Public Works Department on CD ($5.00) or printed and spiral bound ($30.00).  Orders can be placed by calling 402-444-5220 or visiting the Public Works main office on the sixth floor of the Omaha Douglas County Civic Center located in Omaha at 1819 Farnam Avenue.
